The circuit of Monza is one of the oldest in Europe. The fastest layout of the world was constructed in 1922.
The Monza Autodrome was the third permanent installation built in the world after the English one of Brooklands (1907) and the American one of Indianapolis (1909).
It is extremely fast, and not very easy to drive.
This is one of the rare circuits where the race will usually go the full 500 km distance within the three hours alloted.

Monza is a circuit where anything can happen, given its ultra-high-speed nature and the strain it puts not only on engines but also brakes. The 5.793 kilometre track is the fastest of the year with four long straights enabling cars to reach top speeds of around 340km/h and average speeds of 250km/h.
